THANKFUL AT CHRISTMAS TIME

by Michael Johnson

Well, here we are again, another Christmas almost here. There is something so special for me about this time of year. I just get these good feelings all inside. Christmas makes me think about people who are less fortunate. I mean think about it for a minute. You’re home warm with decorations covering your home. Friends and family are all together. Everybody feasts on all the good cooked food, and it’s like everything is fine in the world, but it’s not.

There are people out there who don’t have a warm home to go to. They don’t have family who will take them in, and some live outside in alleys or boxes. Sometimes I wish I had all the money in the world to take care of people in those types of situations. But even if I could take care of some of the problems, there are still more in other countries.

So, I’m thankful that I have somewhere to lay my head at night. I have hot food to eat and people who love me. For me, this time of year is about giving. Feed a person if they have nothing to eat. Give them something to drink if they are thirsty. This time of the year is about caring, being kind to all. If you ask me, “Am I thankful?” Yes, very much so, without a single complaint. May Christmas be a special time in everyone’s lives. I know it is in mine.
