SOMETHING YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR PARENTS

by Marli Miranda

When I was six years old my father died. We were a big family. We were four sisters and four brothers. My youngest sister was only four years old. My mother had to work in a school to help the family. She never had to do this before. My brothers, who were older than us, worked too.

After a few years, three brothers got married. My mother and my brother, Alair, still worked to help us. They were strong people. They taught us good things that we won’t ever forget. They taught us about determination, sincerity, friendliness, honesty, hard work, generosity, responsibility, and things that we need all the time with others.

My mother died a few years ago. My brother Alair is in Brazil. He is a nice person. He is married and has a wonderful family. I consider him like my father.
