THE FOUR SEASONS

by Dolores Martioski

There are four seasons in a year. They are fall, winter, spring and summer.

I like the fall because of the beauty in the change of nature. The leaves change to beautiful colors and it’s a beautiful sight to see.

I do not like the fall because the evenings cool down too quickly. It gets dark too early and the evening just goes slowly by.

I like winter because it is the time of year for a winter wonderland.

Children love to build snowmen. People skate on the ponds.

I do not like winter because of the snowstorms. It brings in the cold winds and rain. The roads become slick with ice. Many accidents occur.

I like the spring because it is the most beautiful time of year. Mother Nature springs on her beauty to the world. The flowers bloom. The trees bare their leaves. It is a beautiful time of the year.

There is no reason not to like the spring. It is the time of the year to enjoy the beauty of nature.

I also like the summer because it’s the time of year to go out and enjoy yourself. I love going to amusement parks, take long walks, swim, go on picnics and go on long rides in the evenings. Summer does have its enjoyable moments.

I do not like summer because sometimes the heat is intense. It becomes unbearable. The heat can work you into a sweat and even a cold shower cannot cool you down for long! It can be an uncomfortable time of year.

My favorite season of the year is spring, because Mother Nature springs out its true beauty.
